We’re All About the Mission
We believe God loves us and desires a relationship with each and every person. Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center provides a sacred place of peace and quiet, and offers the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola to facilitate an encounter with God.

…And Built on The Love of God!
Established in December 1960 by the Jesuit Fathers and Brothers of the New Orleans Province of the Society of Jesus, the property that Ignatius House Retreat Center sits on was a generous gift from Suzanne Spalding Schroder and her son John, a Jesuit Priest.  Their hope, along with the Province, was to create the perfect place for retreat, reflection and spiritual renewal for those seeking to discover and live out God’s will in their lives.

Because of the Schroder family’s love of God, and their generous donation, for more than half a century Ignatius House Retreat Center has offered Silent Weekend Retreats, Days of Reflection, and spiritual direction to individuals and groups of all faiths.
