2 Night Advent Retreat: God Hopes In Us
December 6 @ 6:00 pm - December 8 @ 12:00 pm$295
Directed by Sarah Otto
We love because God first loved us (1 John 4:19). We hope because God first hoped in us.
During the second week of the Spiritual Exercises, St. Ignatius invites us into a “meditation on the incarnation.” We imagine the three persons of the Trinity (God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit) looking down upon the world in all its chaos: people laughing and crying, getting married and divorced, some at peace and others at war, people hungry, abused, babies being born and others dying. Yet despite its chaos, the response of the Triune God is to enter in: to birth hope into the world in the person of Jesus. During this retreat, we will reflect on God’s hope for the world, God’s unique hope for our own life, and how that leads us forward to hope in the future.
This is a silent retreat. Retreatants are expected to maintain a sacred silence throughout the retreat, including at meals, unless otherwise noted.
