Art as Prayer is a 2-night silent retreat that explores the use of our God given imagination to create “Holy Reminders.” Holy Reminders are images and icons familiar to our Catholic sensibilities that bring us in the presence of our Lord Jesus. These Holy Reminders capture the love affair between Christ and His people and bring individuals back to the peace that only Jesus provides in times of trial. Retreatants will have an opportunity to create one or two personal Holy Reminders to take home (made of wood and acrylic paint), will engage in painting as prayer, and will explore their talent & interest in acrylic painting on wood. All materials will be provided. A Catholic Mass will be offered for those interested, and Reconciliation will also be available. Space is limited to 10 participants.
This is a silent retreat. Guests are expected to maintain a sacred silence throughout the retreat, including at meals, unless otherwise noted.
