2-Night Couples Retreat: A Shared Pilgrimage
February 14 @ 6:00 pm - February 16 @ 12:00 pm$450
Directed by Tim Muldoon, PhD and Susan Muldoon, MA
If life is a pilgrimage toward God, then a life in a serious relationship is like walking together along the same road. Consider what that pilgrimage might entail. It means having a conversation partner, a companion to help navigate difficult terrain, a resource in times of difficulty. But it can also mean having to navigate which way to go when the path is unclear, and at times disagreeing on the way to go. In this retreat, Tim and Sue Muldoon will invite couples to reflect on their shared pilgrimage. Jesus’ words to his disciples about following him–who promised that his yoke is light–will be a guide to considering what a shared pilgrimage through life might look like when done in imitation of Jesus.
This is a silent retreat. Retreatants are expected to maintain a sacred silence throughout the retreat, including at meals, unless otherwise noted.
Tim and Sue Muldoon are authors of three books about applying Ignatian spirituality to family life: Six Sacred Rules for Families; The Discerning Parent; and Reclaiming Family Time. They will share their insights about how to live deliberately and even contemplatively amidst the busyness of everyday. They will help you to consider your spiritual life not as something you use to escape from all the craziness, but rather as a way of entering into the craziness and finding God there.
