Day of Reflection: Praise be to You – Finding God in Creation
June 6 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm$20
Join us for a silent day of reflection with Mass. As so much of the world went into shelter in place this spring, the earth was given a much needed Sabbath rest. And so many of us, without places to go, found respite in journeying outdoors and rekindling an appreciation for creation, our common home. Join us for a day of prayer reflecting on the gift of creation as a place to encounter, delight in and praise God. We will draw upon Ignatian prayer methods, scripture, and excerpts from Laudato Si (Pope Francis’ encyclical which marks its 5th anniversary in May). Limited to the first 22 registrants. Advance registration required.
Sarah Otto, M.Div. is a member of the Pastoral department at Ignatius House. She studied theology as both an undergrad and graduate student, receiving her Master of Divinity from Boston College. Her passion has focused on the intersection of faith and justice, which led her to study in El Salvador. Sarah spent a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, serving men and women experiencing homelessness in Portland, Ore. Sarah has worked as a hospital and prison chaplain and most recently worked in college campus ministry for five years, both at Providence College and as director of a Newman Catholic Center in Chico, Calif. As a young mom, Sarah is particularly passionate about ministering to women and families but continues to enjoy helping people discern how to live a faith that does justice, as well as discovering the unique and creative ways God works in everyone.
