Capital Campaign

The three-phase campaign will enhance the retreat experience by expanding and improving our facilities for all retreatants who come through our doors.

Ignatius House is thrilled to announce its first major capital campaign in a decade! The Board of Ignatius House is undertaking this $8.8 million campaign to position the retreat center as a sacred space of rest and renewal for many years to come.  The three-phase campaign will enhance the retreat experience by expanding and improving our facilities for all retreatants who come through our doors.

A Transformational Moment for Ignatius House

For more than 60 years, Ignatius House has provided a serene, contemplative environment where people of different backgrounds can come to encounter God. In 2024, Ignatius House served almost 5,000 individuals and hosted 98 nonprofits, schools, and faith-based organizations, providing a sacred space for transformational experiences.

With growing demand for the services we provide, we feel the constraints of our current facilities every day. Our campus needs new and improved spaces to enhance the experiences of our retreatants and expand our capacity to welcome even more.

Improvements In Three Phases

1. The Upper Room

A new prayer and meeting space for retreatants. The new building will feature a large, light-filled gathering space with river and forest views, and breakout rooms for small-group meetings. It will also provide much-needed office space.

2. The Center for Spiritual Wellness

Our existing Resource Building will transform into a new Center for Spiritual Wellness. This will house spiritual direction rooms and a new Spiritual Directors’ library, and will free up more rooms in the Retreat Center to serve as bedrooms, increasing our overall capacity.

3. Retreat Center Refresh

Our current retreat center, built in 1961, needs renovations to better serve our retreatants. Our plans include a new café, upgraded dining room, refreshed retreatant rooms, and a renovated small chapel.

Current Status

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have secured enough in pledges to begin phase 1 of the campaign. Because construction costs are always rising, we started construction on The Upper Room to be good stewards of the funds already donated. Phases 2 and 3 will follow once The Upper Room is finished.

To fully realize all three phases of this campaign, we need to raise a total of $8.8 million.  We humbly invite you to join us at this pivotal moment in Ignatius House’s history.
