Are you a highly organized, creative, mission-driven individual who wants to build a career in nonprofit fundraising? Ignatius House (Atlanta, GA) and Gonzaga Eastern Point Retreat House (Gloucester, MA) are two Jesuit retreat centers rooted in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Together, we provide sacred spaces of silence, spiritual reflection, and renewal to thousands of retreatants each year.

We are seeking a full-time Development Coordinator to support the fundraising and donor stewardship efforts of both retreat houses. This is an entry-level role designed for someone eager to learn nonprofit development from the inside and grow professionally while serving a meaningful mission.

This is a unique shared position: while you will work at our Sandy Springs, GA retreat center, you will divide your time equally between two vibrant retreat communities, gaining exposure to two organizations and a wide range of development responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

This role supports fundraising efforts for both retreat houses. Responsibilities may include work for either organization and will vary week to week.

You will:

  • Maintain and manage a donor database (Bloomerang), ensuring clean, accurate, and disciplined data practices
  • Assist with donor acknowledgment processes and stewardship communications
  • Prepare mailing lists, reports, and segmented outreach
  • Draft, edit, and format fundraising appeals and donor communications
  • Design graphics and collateral using Canva (or similar tools)
  • Create and schedule email campaigns in Bloomerang
  • Support social media content for fundraising campaigns and retreats
  • Assist with development events, including invitation design, RSVP tracking, event materials, and on-site support
  • Support special initiatives, including young adult programming and retreat outreach
  • Help maintain organized digital files and shared assets
  • Provide general administrative support that strengthens each retreat house’s development efforts

You will work closely with the Director of Development at Ignatius House and the Executive Director at Eastern Point, gaining mentorship and hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising strategy and operations.

Travel

This role includes travel to Eastern Point Retreat House in Gloucester, Massachusetts approximately twice per year for one week at a time

One visit will include participation in a 3-night silent retreat to experience Eastern Point’s spiritual rhythm firsthand. Travel may also include supporting donor gatherings or communications projects on-site.

Who You Are
  • College graduate
  • An early-career professional (1–3 years experience, including internships)
  • Interested in nonprofit development, fundraising, or mission-driven communications
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • A strong writer and thoughtful communicator
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects at once
  • Able to maintain donor confidentiality and clean data practices
  • Familiar with (or excited to learn) donor databases like Bloomerang
  • Comfortable designing simple graphics in Canva
  • Adaptable and able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Open to working in a Catholic/Jesuit mission environment

You don’t need to be Catholic — but you should be comfortable working in a spiritually grounded organization.

What Makes This Role Unique
  • Exposure to two Jesuit retreat ministries in different regions of the country
  • Hands-on training in nonprofit development operations
  • Meaningful mission impact supporting retreats for adults of all ages, backgrounds, and religions
  • Hybrid schedule (after onboarding)
  • Mentorship and professional growth in fundraising and nonprofit leadership
Compensation & Structure
  • Full-time, non-exempt
  • Competitive salary
  • Three weeks of paid time off
  • Fully covered health, vision, and dental insurance (100% paid by Ignatius House for the employee)
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching
  • One free weekend retreat at Ignatius House each year
  • Hybrid schedule: minimum three days per week on-site at Ignatius House (after initial training period)
  • Approximately 20 hours/week supporting each retreat house (averaged over time)

If you are looking for more than just a job - if you want to learn, grow, and contribute to work that creates space for silence, healing, and encounter - we would love to hear from you.
