This three-night workshop is for Ignatian spiritual directors who seek to grow in their understanding, capacity, and skills to accompany people who have experienced trauma and the people who love them. This workshop will also be of interest to therapists and pastoral care ministers, for whom we have reserved a number of places. The workshop will be grounded in Fr. Rob McChesney’s book The Soul Also Keeps the Score: A Trauma-Informed Companion to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. This workshop presumes some understanding of Ignatian spirituality and spiritual direction.

About Fr. Rober McChesney, SJ
Jesuit Father Rob McChesney, S.J., is an experienced trauma-informed leader of Ignatian retreats, spiritual guide, and pastoral counselor. For forty years he has accompanied casualties of violence, including war refugees, military veterans, and survivors of sexual abuse. He has published with Oxford University Press and in the British Jesuit journal of Christian spirituality, The Way, and is at work on a book entitled “A Trauma-Informed Companion to the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius Loyola.”
