The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide for Trying Times by Jane Goodall and her collaborator Douglas Abrams captures in dialogue and narrative the concept of “hope” and how it applies to the world today. Jane Goodall's narratives, brimming with inspiration, demonstrate how the backing of a compassionate community frequently bolsters an individual's determination to persevere in the face of adversity. The authors stress the significance of hope as a vital force for our continued existence and its pervasive impact on every facet of our lives. This is a deeply spiritual book, compatible with faith traditions who see the face of God in all of creation.
This book study will meet on Tuesday mornings for eight weeks from 10:15 am - 11:45 am from February 24 to April 21, 2026. The meetings will be at Ignatius House, except for two dates when the group will meet virtually (details to follow), and there will be no meeting on April 14.
Participants will receive a reading selection each week. Please purchase the book on your own in advance. Advance registration is required as space is limited.
